01 · How a Batch Comes Together

One Formulation, Several Process Stages

A chemical batch typically moves through powder wet-out, high shear dispersion or emulsification, deagglomeration and homogenization to a stable, uniform product. Each stage is a Prócer machine.

Your process uses the stages it needs - a simple emulsion may need only dispersion and homogenization; a pigment paste uses wet-out, dispersion and wet milling.

Prócer high shear mixers reduce particle size and deagglomerate to the micron range. For sub-micron / nanoparticle pigment grinding, a bead or media mill is required - and a Prócer high shear pre-disperser cuts the number of mill passes needed, sometimes eliminating a pass entirely.
03 · The Technology

Rotor-Stator High Shear Mixing, Explained

Every Prócer machine - batch or inline, lab or production - is built around the same rotor-stator high shear principle. Understanding it makes equipment selection straightforward.

01

Intake

A high-speed rotor turning inside a fixed stator creates powerful suction, drawing liquids and solids into the workhead - the same self-pumping action that lets an inline high shear mixer feed itself without an auxiliary pump.

02

Shear

Centrifugal force drives material into the precision gap between rotor and stator, where intense mechanical and hydraulic shear mill particles and droplets to a smaller, uniform size - the core of emulsification, dispersion and deagglomeration.

03

Expel & recirculate

Material is forced out through the stator perforations at high velocity as fresh material is drawn in. In single-pass or recirculation mode, this progressively reduces particle size to the target specification.

Batch vs inline, high shear vs high speed disperser. A batch high shear mixer works inside a vessel; an inline high shear homogenizer processes continuously in a pipeline and pumps as it mixes. Both differ from a simple high-speed disperser (a sawtooth blade for lower-shear dispersion) by the close rotor-stator tolerance that delivers far finer, more uniform results. Interchangeable workheads let one Prócer machine emulsify, homogenize, disperse, deagglomerate and wet-out powders - from R&D dispersion trials to full-scale coatings, ink and adhesive production. As a rotor-stator equipment manufacturer, exporter and supplier, Prócer builds this rotor stator technology across the full range - from a benchtop industrial mixer to full production-scale industrial mixing.

04 · Lab & R&D Mixers - Where Formulation Begins

Laboratory High Shear Mixers & Homogenizers

Chemical formulation starts at the bench - and chemical R&D is a distinct market. Formulation chemists, coatings and ink developers, adhesive labs and university research groups need lab high shear mixers that deliver production-grade rotor-stator shear at small volumes, so a dispersion perfected in a beaker scales to production predictably. Prócer builds two.

08 · FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a high shear mixer used for in the chemical industry?
A high shear mixer uses a rotor-stator to disperse, emulsify, deagglomerate and wet-mill materials. In the chemical industry it is used for pigment wet-out and dispersion, emulsion and latex production, adhesive and sealant mixing, powder wetting, and particle size reduction to the micron range - for paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, polymers and specialty chemicals.
Can Prócer equipment disperse pigments for paints and inks?
Yes. Prócer high shear mixers and the Microcut wet disperser handle pigment wet-out, dispersion and deagglomeration to the micron range, giving uniform colour development and stable dispersions. For sub-micron pigment grinding (nanoparticle-scale), a dedicated bead or media mill is required - a separate equipment class - where a Prócer high shear pre-disperser reduces the number of mill passes needed.
Does Prócer make batch and inline high shear mixers?
Yes. Prócer builds both batch high shear mixers (MixPro) and inline high shear homogenizers (Nexus) for chemical processing, plus the HFD powder induction system for lump-free wet-out of pigments, fillers and thickeners, and lab-scale Revtron and NucleoLab units for R&D.
What particle size can Prócer high shear mixers achieve?
Prócer rotor-stator high shear mixers achieve dispersion, emulsification and wet milling into the micron range, typically down to a few microns depending on formulation. Sub-micron and nanoparticle sizes require a high-pressure homogenizer or bead/media mill, which are separate equipment classes; a high shear mixer is often used as the pre-dispersion step ahead of them.
Which industries and products does Prócer chemical equipment serve?
Prócer chemical process equipment serves paints and coatings, printing inks, adhesives and sealants, polymers and latex, agrochemicals, specialty chemicals, lubricants and greases, and home-care and industrial cleaning products - for dispersion, emulsification, deagglomeration, powder wet-out and homogenization.
Is Prócer a chemical process equipment manufacturer in India?
Yes. Prócer is a chemical process mixing equipment manufacturer headquartered in Khed, Pune, Maharashtra, supplying high shear mixers, homogenizers and dispersers across India and exporting to Dubai and the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore, the US, UK and Canada.
