The Prócer Quality Advantage

Sunscreen is the toughest cosmetic emulsion you'll ever scale

SPF is not just a formula, it's a process result. The same recipe can test at SPF 50 or SPF 30 depending on how well the UV filters are dispersed and how uniform the emulsion droplet size is. These four guarantees are engineered into the Mixpro itself.

Consistent SPF

SPF depends directly on droplet and particle size distribution. Forced circulation through the DRI's defined shear zone means every kilogram of the batch is homogenized identically, so measured SPF holds, batch after batch.

No White Cast

Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are drawn under vacuum straight into the rotor-stator shear zone, instantly wetted and dispersed agglomerate-free, no white streaks, no gritty specks, full UV efficacy from every gram of filter.

Bubble-Free

Vacuum processing removes entrained air during emulsification, no foam, no oxidation of sensitive filters like avobenzone, no fill-weight variation on the filling line, and a dense, elegant skin feel.

Repeatable

PLC/SCADA recipe management locks temperatures, vacuum levels, shear speeds and times for every product. Guaranteed reproducibility across batches, operators and shifts, audit-ready data logging included.

Manufacturing Process

The industrial sunscreen manufacturing process

Whether you specify it as a sunscreen cream manufacturing plant, a sunscreen lotion making machine or a complete sunscreen production line, the process is the same, and on a Prócer Mixpro plant it runs in a single vessel, under one recipe program, for both mineral and chemical formulations.

Oil Phase Prep

Emollients, waxes and oil-soluble organic UV filters heated to 70–80 °C in the jacketed vessel with anchor agitation.

Water Phase Prep

Water, glycerin and water-phase ingredients heated; gums and rheology modifiers inducted lump-free through the DRI under vacuum.

Mineral Filter Dispersion

ZnO and TiO₂ powders drawn by self-generated vacuum directly into the shear zone, instant wetting, zero dusting, zero agglomerates.

Vacuum Emulsification

Phases combined under vacuum; every kilogram circulated through the DRI rotor-stator for a fine, uniform, bubble-free emulsion.

Cool, Dose & Transfer

Jacket cooling under slow agitation; heat-sensitive actives and fragrance added cold; hygienic discharge to storage or filling.

The Machine

Prócer Mixpro, the complete sunscreen making machine in one system

The Prócer Mixpro is a vacuum processing, homogenizing, mixing and dispersing system engineered for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. If you've been comparing a vacuum emulsifying mixer, a cream homogenizer machine or a high shear mixer for cosmetics, the Mixpro is all three in one system. For sunscreen and cosmetic cream manufacturing it replaces the traditional cluster of vessels, pumps and homogenizers with one compact, automated plant.

DRI, Dual Rotor Inline Homogenizer

The heart of the system: a unique three-stage design, centrifugal pumping, lump breaking, rotor-stator homogenization, bottom-mounted for high-flow mixing, viscous product handling and superior emulsification.

High Shear + Low Shear in One

A low-shear bypass lets encapsulated actives, soft beads and scrub particles pass intact while the batch keeps mixing, shear when you need it, protection when you don't.

Vacuum Powder Induction

The homogenizer's self-generated vacuum draws powders directly into the shear zone, contamination-free intake without vessel vacuuming, faster processing and less product loss.

Jacketed Heating & Cooling

Indirect jacket delivers precise thermal control for hot emulsification and gentle cooldown, protecting heat-sensitive UV filters and actives.

Advanced Agitation

Anchor agitator with flow breaker for wall-to-wall mixing without dead zones; counter-rotating agitator systems available for complex, high-viscosity formulations.

PLC/SCADA + Self-CIP

Recipe management, real-time control and data logging, plus self-cleaning CIP performed by the homogenizer itself, with no external pump.

Technology Comparison

Mixpro DRI vs the conventional locally fabricated homogenizer vessel

Most sunscreen and cream plants in the market are built the conventional way: a fabricated vessel with a batch homogenizer welded into the bottom (a bottom entry homogenizer), plus a separate external inline homogenizer looped in with a transfer pump and piping. It works, but it fights you on exactly the things that make sunscreen hard. Here's how replacing both with a single bottom-mounted homogenizer of a fundamentally different design, the DRI, changes the process.

Conventional local fabrication

Vessel + bottom batch homogenizer + external inline homogenizer

  • Random shear exposure. The bottom batch homogenizer shears whatever happens to be near it, product near the bottom is over-processed while the top of the batch may never pass through the shear zone.
  • Two homogenizers to buy, power and maintain, plus a transfer pump and external piping loop connecting them.
  • Top powder addition. ZnO/TiO₂ dumped from the manhole, dusting, floating rafts of powder, agglomerates that need multiple recirculation passes to break.
  • Air entrainment. Open or poorly sealed processing pulls air into the emulsion, foam, oxidation, fill-weight variation.
  • Product loss & cleaning pain. Hold-up in the external loop, dead legs in piping, manual strip-down between products.
  • Operator-dependent quality. Pass counts and timings vary by shift, so droplet size, viscosity and SPF vary too.
Prócer Mixpro

One bottom-mounted DRI, pump, lump breaker & homogenizer in a single unit

  • Defined shear for every kilogram. The DRI is self-pumping: it continuously draws the batch through its three-stage shear zone with counted turnovers, a tight droplet-size distribution and consistent SPF.
  • One machine replaces three. Centrifugal pumping + lump breaking + rotor-stator homogenization in a single bottom-mounted unit, no external inline homogenizer, no transfer pump, minimal piping.
  • Vacuum powder induction. Mineral filters and gums are drawn below the liquid surface straight into the shear zone, instantly wetted, agglomerate-free, dust-free.
  • Bubble-free by design. Vacuum high-shear mixing delivers dense, air-free, oxidation-protected emulsions.
  • Self-CIP, minimal hold-up. The homogenizer performs CIP internally with no external pump, fast, validated cleaning between products.
  • Recipe-locked reproducibility. PLC/SCADA runs the same program every batch, up to 80% shorter cycles, lower energy and water cost per batch.

FAQ

Sunscreen manufacturing machinery, frequently asked questions

Which machine is used to manufacture sunscreen cream and lotion?

Industrial sunscreen is made in a vacuum homogenizer mixer, a jacketed vessel with vacuum, agitation and a high-shear homogenizer. The Prócer Mixpro combines all of these with a DRI Dual Rotor Inline Homogenizer, so one system handles oil and water phase preparation, powder dispersion, vacuum emulsification, cooling and discharge.

Can the same machine make both mineral and chemical sunscreens?

Yes. The Mixpro disperses mineral (inorganic) UV filters like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide agglomerate-free through vacuum powder induction into the DRI shear zone, and emulsifies chemical (organic) filter systems under precise temperature control. Recipe-based PLC/SCADA control stores each formulation for repeatable changeovers.

How do you prevent white cast and SPF variation in sunscreen production?

Both problems trace back to dispersion quality. Agglomerated ZnO or TiO₂ causes white cast and lowers measured SPF. The DRI draws powders under vacuum directly into its rotor-stator shear zone, wetting and dispersing every particle, while forced circulation ensures every kilogram receives the same shear, so particle size, droplet size and SPF stay consistent within and between batches.

What's wrong with my current vessel with bottom homogenizer and inline homogenizer?

Nothing is "wrong", it's simply an architecture with built-in limits: random shear exposure, top powder addition, air entrainment, hold-up in the external loop and operator-dependent pass counts. The full comparison above shows point by point how the bottom-mounted DRI removes each limit while replacing two homogenizers and a pump with one unit.

What batch sizes are available for a sunscreen manufacturing plant?

Mixpro systems scale from pilot units of around 50 litres for R&D up to full production vessels of several hundred litres per batch. The same DRI technology runs at every scale, so formulations transfer from lab to production without rework.

Can the Mixpro manufacture other cosmetic products besides sunscreen?

Yes, the same machine is a complete cosmetic cream making machine for moisturizers, lotions, gels, serums, ointments, shampoos, conditioners and toothpaste, handling viscosities up to 100,000 cP. See the portfolio section above.

What is the price of a sunscreen manufacturing machine?

Sunscreen manufacturing machine price, and overall sunscreen manufacturing plant cost, depends on batch size, automation level (PLC/SCADA), vacuum and thermal options, and GMP documentation. with your target capacity and formulations for a configured quotation, from pilot Mixpro units to complete turnkey cosmetic plants.

What machinery is required to start a sunscreen manufacturing business?

At minimum: one SPF cream mixing machine, a jacketed vacuum processing vessel with high-shear homogenizer, which is exactly what the Prócer Mixpro is, plus a water-phase preparation vessel for larger lines, storage or transfer arrangements, and a filling line. Many brands start with a 50 L pilot Mixpro to develop, certify and launch, then scale to production-size vessels on the same DRI technology without changing the process.

Where is the Prócer sunscreen making machine manufactured? Can I run a trial?

Every Mixpro is engineered to international sanitary and GMP standards and built by Kinemach Engineering and Machines Pvt Ltd in Pune, Maharashtra, India. You're welcome to bring your own formulation to the Pune technology centre for a live trial, or ship your raw materials and join the trial on video from anywhere in the world.
